QUOTE! #2

The awesomest. C. S. Lewis, in his "Discarded Image," quotes G. K. Chesterton, speaking under what circumstances, I haven't the faintest.

There is something sinister about putting a leprechaun in the workhouse. The only solid comfort is that he certainly will not work.

Someone explain, please?

  1. Me thinks it means the following:
    Think of Oliver Twist...
Imagine putting a leprechaun in the work house with him. Sadness! A leprechaun should be running around causing mischief! Not chained to this horrid factory! However, he won't work, cause he's too tricksy of a hobbit, I mean, leprechaun, so don't fret! He'll be okay!
